Widgets are small applications that perform really useful tasks such as clocks, news tickers and train times. The Yahoo Widget engine brings all of these tools together in one place and makes it simple to organise and use them.

The Widget Engine takes advantage of the graphics capabilities of Windows and MacOS so that widgets can be transparent as well as always on top of anything else on the screen. A shortcut key immediately brings all the widgets to the foreground.

There is a very active community creating widgets for just about every conceivable task from searching for recipes to monitoring the status of online games. Widgets work on both Windows and Mac once the software is installed.
