Unless you have access to Outlook, it can be difficult to find good diary software. UK's Kalender was specifically written to fill this gap and offers a very convenient

The software defaults to a month view but it can also show daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly appointments.

A simple audio alert can be assigned to a reminder, or the Kalendar can be set to open a document or even launch a program. Events can be repeated, ideal for birthdays and anniversaries.

National holidays are included for the UK, US and most other European countries. More than one lot of holidays can be shown at any one time.

The greatest drawback of UK's Kalendar is that it is not possible to print the diary pages out. However, the creator points out that it is possible to export the diary as HTML and then print from an internet browser.

Kalendar can share dates with other computers on a local network if one of the computers is acting as a server.
