There are all sorts of things going on behind the scenes in Windows and any one of them can cause performance difficulties. Moo0 SystemMonitor is a small utility that shows all the important information for identifying the weakest link.

It does not take up too much space on the Desktop and there is an option to keep it on top of all other windows. It allows you to check up on the processor, how much memory is being used, hard disk and network activity and how long Windows has been running.

If a measurement gets too high, that section of the window flashes red to draw attention. To avoid this becoming too distracting it is possible to reduce the frequency of updates.

We were also pleased to see that SystemMonitor did not use too many resources on the computer itself. This is inevitable but some utilities are better than others.

SystemMonitor does a good job of reporting on system performance.
