It is often important to know how long you have spent on different tasks, whether you bill people by time, or just want to keep on top of a busy homework schedule. Time Edition is a helpful utility that may look just like a timer, but is actually a lot more sophisticated.
Underneath the large timer there are three dropdown menus. These can be used to select a client, project and task to time. This has a business feel, but there's no reason why it couldn't be set to School, History and Henry VIII essay. Different colours can be set for different clients.
There is a big play and pause button for starting work on tasks and it can be set to stop automatically after the user is idle for a certain amount of time.
