Security software for Linux computers

Although Linux users are fairly safe from viruses, that does not mean they cannot transmit them unwittingly to Windows users by sharing infected documents or programs. So it makes sense to keep a check on the files you share with other computer users. Avast is an on-demand scanner with a simple graphical user interface.
To use the program, you will first need to register here.
This download is a DEB installer file suitable for both Ubuntu and Debian. RPM and source files can be found here.
