Windows Explorer is fine for copying a few files between folders but it would
be impractical to use it to back up hundreds of files.
It hasn’t got the brains to compare two files and decide a file is not worth
copying if an identical version exists in the destination folder. Instead, it
asks whether a file should be overwritten, meaning the computer can’t be left to
get on with copying tasks while you do something more productive.
This Workshop introduces Replicator, a free program that makes intelligent
copies from disk to disk, computer to computer, or from computer to portable USB
devices. Used properly, it can save you having to buy a dedicated backup
program.
