A There are companies that will do this but they are generally geared towards business users, with business prices. Do an internet search for ‘photo scanning service’ to find some. There arecompanies that do this, such as www.slidesoncd.co.uk, but they tend to be expensive – around 80p per print – and you’ll need to getthe prints to the company in the first place.

For a desktop scanner, the Fujitsu Scansnap Fi-5110EOX2 can scan 15 photos per minute in full colour. It has a 50-sheet feeder, so it can do 50 pictures at once. However, it costs around £350 so is only economical for those with several hundred photos to scan.
