PC help: IE7 padlock moves

Check if a website is secure when using Internet Explorer 7

Q I have installed Internet Explorer 7 and found that when I make a purchase from a website, the padlock is not displayed to indicate a secure site on the status bar.

Is this a fault, or is the padlock hidden somewhere?
P Cassidy

A The padlock has moved to the address bar in Internet Explorer 7. It is on the right-hand side of the text containing the address of the website you are looking at and only appears if the website is secure. Left-click on the padlock to see more information about the credentials of the website.
