PC help: Automatic Outlook

Q How can I make sure Outlook loads automatically when I start up my PC so the reminders are always working? I use Windows XP and Office 2003.

A It is simple to add a shortcut for Outlook to the Startup folder on the computer.

Left-click on the Start button and then on My Computer. Double-click on the following icons: Local Disk (C:), Documents and Settings, the icon with the name you use to log into Windows, Start Menu, Programs and then Startup.

If you are unsure of the name used to log into Windows, double-click on the All users icon instead. If you do this and there are several users on the computer, Outlook will start automatically for all of them.

Right-click in an empty part of this window, select New and then Shortcut. Click on Browse and find the link for Outlook. This will be found by clicking on the small plus symbol next to the following icons: My Computer, Local Disk (C:), Program Files, Microsoft Office, OFFICE11, OUTLOOK.EXE.

The folder called Office 11 may be different depending on the version of Outlook you have installed. This folder is for Office 2003. Click on Outlook.exe and then on OK. Click on Next and then Finish. Outlook will now start automatically when Windows does.
