Previous versions of Windows have included basic facilities to enable users
to take snapshots of selected windows or the whole screen – known as
screengrabs.
Windows Vista extends this ability with a dedicated tool for the job. Called
Snipping Tool, it can be used to capture the whole screen, specific windows or
even a selected area of the display.
The utility also includes basic highlighting tools, which may come in handy
when emailing screengrabs to other people.
