Q I am trying to install Paint.net on my computer but the
system requirements include the .NET Framework. What is this and how can I
install it on my computer?
A The
.NET
Framework is a piece of software created by Microsoft to make computer
programs easier to write and work better on Windows computers. There are now
three versions all of which should be installed on a computer. Software written
with the .NET Framework will only work if this is installed on the computer.
The easiest way to make sure that this is installed is to use Windows Update.
Click on the Start but and then on All Programs and then Windows Update. Click
on the Custom button and, after the utility has finished searching the computer,
click on the Software, Optional option in the left hand side. Select all the
options for .NET, there are several versions and they all need to be selected.
Click on the link 'Review and install updates' and then on the Install Updates
button. If a restart is required, this will be requested after the installation
has finished.
