While notebook computers are designed to be portable, many of the peripherals that can be attached to them aren't. Printers are usually a good example of this. However, the compact, light (it weighs less than 2kg) Canon Bubble Jet i80 scuppers this notion as it's designed to be taken on the road without compromising on print quality.
Being a mobile-orientated device, the Bubble Jet i80 is especially versatile when connecting to devices. It uses USB or infrared to talk to other PCs, Apple Macs, handheld computers and supported digital cameras. There's an optional Bluetooth adapter for connection to mobile phones and it's even possible to do away with all the wires via an additional battery pack, but these cost an extra £59 and £65 respectively.
Considering the small size of the bubble Jet i80, it's pretty quick and managed to rattle off six pages of black text per minute. It took just a minute and a half to print an impressive-looking A4 colour photo on its highest print resolution setting of 4800 x 1200 dpi.
