Share files across a network

This network-attached storage device allows users to share their files across a network.
Although it's primarily for businesses, it also has some features useful to home users.
For instance, it can act as an iTunes server so you can load it with music and then not have to have a PC on to listen to music (as long as you then connect up a media streaming device).
It doesn't have a hard disk built in – instead, you have to buy one (of the Sata variety) and fit it. That was easy – the disk just slides in along the supplied plastic runners, and the front of the box comes off for this purpose. It was a bit noisy, however, and the setup process was a little tricky, although we got there in the end.
There are other good features such as the ability to slot in a memory card and transfer photos straight to the disk. It can also share USB printers across the network. However, the price is a huge problem – the Linksys NAS200 differs little as far as consumers are concerned, and is only £95.
