Most gadgets come with their own power packs, which can be a problem: if you lose one, it can become impossible to charge your device. Also, if you're off travelling it's a hassle to have to carry all the chargers and cables.

That's where the Philips SCE7640 rechargeable power pack comes in. It's a power pack that comes with lots of connectors so that it can be used to charge lots of devices without having to carry all the chargers around.

It plugs into the mains, and once the main unit has charged, it provides power to all sorts of other gadgets. The device works with most laptops, although some larger ones (which require more than 20V) won't work. A list of known working models is included in the package. It can also charge USB devices, phones, music players and more.

There's a travel bag included, although unlike some travel chargers we've seen it doesn't come with plugs for different countries (only for the UK). While the SCE7640 is a good charger it's extremely expensive, making it poor value.
