Scansoft has updated its OCR software to work with the latest version of Windows. TextBridge Pro Millennium is fully compatible with Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office 2000, and will also work with Windows 95 and 98.

The latest version has been designed to make it easier to access from within other programs, so you can scan directly into word processors and spreadsheets. You can even scan printed documents to HTML, automatically creating a web page that mimics the layout - including pictures - of the original paper.

There's also a 'Live Update' option that allows you to connect to Scansoft over the internet for new scanner drivers and other updates. TextBridge Pro Millennium will cost you £50. You can buy a copy of the package online at www.scansoft.com or you'll find it in major software stores.
