Improved version of PaperPort available

The latest version of scanning and document management software PaperPort is now available.

PaperPort Professional 11 has "improved speed and accuracy" and features a one-button scanning system, PDF compression and a new search agent aptly named Watson, making it easy to locate documents.

More than 50 new features and enhancements have been added to the latest version of PaperPort, which allows users to scan, search and organise documents and photographs on a personal PC or across a network.

According to developers Nuance, speed has increased by more than 200 per cent in version 11 and optical character recognition (OCR) accuracy by 40 per cent.

The new version also includes PDF-MRC compression technology, which creates industry-standard scanned colour PDF files "up to eight times smaller" than those created by alternative PDF applications.

The new Watson search agent featured in PaperPort Professional 11 finds content indexed by the built-in All-in-One search, the web and Desktop search products such as those provided by Google, MSN, Yahoo and X1 – all with a single keyword or phrase.

PaperPort Professional 11 is priced at £99, whilst the home user version PaperPort 11 costs £49.
