Angry internet users have started a tongue-in-cheek campaign to have the Caps Lock key removed from keyboards.
The group claims that the key is squatting on 'valuable keyboard real estate' and is a 'large, useless key'. In the past, the key was used by programmers who needed to type in long sequences of upper-case letters.
With fewer and fewer home computers programming their own software, the group suggests that Caps Lock's time has come.
However, some participants on the group's discussion board have suggested that there are other keys, such as Scroll Lock, that might be less valuable to modern computer users.
