T-Mobile offers broadband speeds via a mobile phone

Broadband internet speeds enabled over Samsung phone

Written by Andrea-Marie Vassou, Computeract!ve

T-Mobile has introduced a mobile phone that will enable consumers to have broadband internet speeds while on the move.

The Samsung Z560 uses HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) technology, and connects to T-Mobile's 3G network, giving users access to 1.8Mbits/sec. These connection speeds are four times faster than traditional 3G connection services. Using T-Mobile's web'n'walk services, users can browse the internet on their phone as they would on their PC.

The phone can be attached to a computer and used as a modem to deliver broadband speed internet, as well as giving users full use of instant messaging and Voice over IP telephony services.

In addition to its broadband capabilities the Z560 has a 2-megapixel camera, mp3 player, 30MB internal memory, video streaming, video calling and one-hour video recording.

It is available exclusively to T-Mobile and prices start from free depending on the contract chosen.
