Broadband internet service providers Pipex and Plusnet have been listed in a new top five chart of suppliers.

Pipex and Plusnet have joined BT, Demon and Virgin as the best-ranked providers in terms of overall technical performance. The chart was compiled by monitoring service Epitiro.

The company checked up on the nine largest ISPs in the country, ranking them on the speed and reliability of connections, how long it took to connect, file upload and download speeds, and other technical indicators.

BT remains the best ranked ISP overall.
