Tesco to sell Apple gadgets

Supermarket extends its core range of electronic products

Written by Andrea-Marie Vassou, Computeract!ve

Tesco is to sell a variety of Apple products both instore and online

The supermarket will set up "Apple Zones" in 12 of its UK stores following a successful trial last year, in the Milton Keynes Kingston store. Over 75 Apple products and related accessories will be available from Apple Macs, iTunes cards, speakers, to the full range of iPods.

The company will also offer a customer service helpline so that people are able to speak to Tescp staff with queries, problems or repairs should they arise.

Tesco claimed that these staff working in the Apple Zones "will be trained individually by Apple and offer sales support on Mac and iPod," which is something many other retail outlets selling Apple products do not offer.

Although consumers are not being tempted with any 'buy one get one free' offers, a spokesman for Tesco claimed "Apple products on sale within Tesco are competitively priced; a 2GB Nano on sale at £98.97 compared to the Apple Store price of £99.00."
