Canon adds new models to PowerShot range

New models snappier than existing cameras in the range

Written by Andrea-Marie Vassou, Computeract!ve

Canon has added two new models to its PowerShot range.

The A460 and A550 will both supersede previous models in the PowerShot range and add ease of use and bigger screens to the range.

Replacing the entry level PowerShot, the A460 has a 5.0 megapixel camera, 4x optical zoom and a 2in LCD, but keeps the same ‘point and shoot’ method as its predecessor.

This method allows users to pick out the most commonly used Special Scene modes – such as Night Snapshot and out of the menu system and onto the camera’s Shooting Mode dial.

The A550 replaces the PowerShot A530 and comes with 7.1 Megapixels, 4x optical zoom and a 2in LCD with a playback button

Both cameras feature a ‘Movie mode’ with audio of up to 60 minutes and film footage and photos can be viewed on a TV via the AV out connection.

The  PowerShot A460 and PowerShot A550 are priced at £119 and £169 respectively.
