Canon launches cameras for portrait photography

Two new cameras designed to capture pictures of friends and family

Written by Andrea-Marie Vassou, Computeract!ve

Canon has added two cameras designed for portrait photography to its Powershot range.

The PowerShot A570 IS and PowerShot A560 both feature a 7.1 Megapixel sensor, 2.5 LCD screen and 4x optical zoom lens along with Face Detection Technology which works by picking out up to nine faces in a shot and focusing on them.

Both cameras also come with Red-Eye Correction available in playback mode which gives users the opportunity to eliminate red-eyes stright from the camera without the need for a PC or special software.

The two cameras also have high sensitivity eliminating the need for flash in dimly lit areas.

In addition the PowerShot A570 IS has an advanced optical Image Stabilizer aimed at giving blur-free shots by compensating for unwanted camera shake.

The PowerShot A570 IS and PowerShot A560 will be available from mid March 2007 and are priced at £249 and £209 respectively.
