The Plusnet service will provide further options for broadband customers

Plusnet launches tailor-made broadband service

Broadband to fit any lifestyle

Written by Andrea-Marie Vassou, Computeract!ve

Plusnet has launched a broadband service designed to fit users' needs and interests.

Broadband Your Way can be tailored according to price, usage allowance and traffic priority and provides a range of options to suit individual users.

Available on a monthly contract, the service offers four options priced at £9.99, £14.99, £19.99 and £29.99 per month. For this users will receive 1GB, 8GB, 20GB, or 40GB of allowance respectively.

The price also includes free overnight usage from midnight to 8am so customers can download software, music and video downloads without eating into their allowance.

Neil Armstrong, products director at Plusnet, said: “When people download an item, for example an album, they will probably not listen to it straightaway. Therefore we want to encourage people to use this quiet time for downloading.”

For those who do go over their monthly allowance, there is also the option to add usage bolt-ons priced from 75p pre-pay or £1 post-pay per GB.

Providing customers stay with the company for 12 months, they will also be given a free wired and wireless router depending on the contract chosen.

The company, which was bought by BT earlier this year, has also invested in its customer services department which it hopes will help redeem its performance from 2006.

“Last year was a bad year for us,” Mr Armstrong admitted. “However, we have invested heavily in our customer services and a new email platform which we hope will solve the problems customers have had.

“The customer service we offer is completely independent from BT,” he added.
