Logitech launches notebook peripherals

Range aims to make notebook use easier

Written by Andrea-Marie Vassou, Computeract!ve

Logitech has expanded its notebook peripherals to include a mouse, desktop stands and travel cases.

The new range will make it easier to work from a notebook, the company has said.

The V220 mouse has a 1,000 DPI optical sensor that Logitech claims will give better tracking when using a laptop. It also includes horizontal scrolling and an RF wireless USB adapter which can be stored underneath the mouse whilst travelling. The automatic “power down” feature is also said to save the mouse energy and extend its six-month battery life.

In addition, Logitech’s two Alto notebook stands, the Logitech Alto Connect and Logitech Alto Express are also claimed by Logitech to give consumers more comfort when using a notebook at home by raising the laptop display to a more optimal viewing height and distance.

Both cases are also said to have enough space for the use of a full-size keyboard and mouse.

Logitech’s new cases - the 15.4 Briefcase and 15.4 Backpack have been designed for 15.4 inch notebooks and come with toughened casings to resist shocks. They also come with a rounded back that helps the bag fit around a user’s body. Both cases include separate compartments for the storage of books and other devices.

In addition, the company will also be launching a four-port, high-speed file transfer (up to 480 Mbps) USB hub for notebooks as well as a cordless number pad which allows users to input numbers into numerical programmes such as Excel, the calculator, and Internet Explorer.

Logitech’s range will be rolled out from July with the premium 4-Port USB hub for notebooks (£19.99) and the Logitech cordless number pad for notebooks (£24.99) leading the way.

The Logitech Alto Express (£19.99) and both notebook cases priced at £69.99 will be available in August followed by the Alto Connect notebook stand priced at £49.99 from September.
