Lenovo has added two mini notebook PCs to its range.

The Ideapad S9 and S10 Netbooks are said to be approximately 1in thick and weigh just over 2lb.

The S9 has an 8.9in screen and the S10 a 10.2in screen. The keyboards are said to be 85 per cent of the size of a standard-sized keyboard.

The PCs also include an energy-efficient LED backlit display that helps provide longer battery life than traditional displays.

Both come with Wifi capability and an Express Card slot for a mobile broadband connection. There is also a webcam, two USB ports and a 4-in-1 multicard reader.

The Lenovo netbooks have 1GB of memory and either 160 GB or 4GB of hard disk space. There is also a choice of Windows XP or Linux versions.

The Ideapad S9 costs from £279 and the S10 from £319. Both will be available in early October.
