The BBC has teamed up with Youtube to let fans watch video clips from the
popular motoring programme Top Gear.
The
new
channel, the first Youtube channel dedicated to an individual BBC programme,
will include clips from the show and interviews with celebrity car enthusiasts.
These include Jamiroquai and Simon Cowell, who both competed twice to knock
each other off the top of the leaderboard when racing a 'reasonably priced car'
around the Top Gear test track.
For those who are not big fans of Top Gear, the channel will also feature
content from the presenters' other shows, such as
Jeremy
Clarkson's Motorworld and Richard Hammond Meets Evel Knievel.
Simon Danker, director of digital media for BBC Worldwide, said: "Top Gear
has a massive audience across the globe so we thought it was time it had its own
place on Youtube.
“The BBC Worldwide Youtube channel has already proven its value to users,
having generated millions of views since its launch in March last year.”
