Don't sack Santa – just sell those unwanted CDs, DVDs or games to someone who wants them

Written by Dinah Greek, Computeractive

Play Trade has launched a website where people can sell unwanted Christmas presents such as CDs, games and DVDs.

The company behind Play.com, the Jersey-based online retailer of DVDs, CDs, books, gadgets and DRM-free mp3 downloads, said it is expecting to handle thousands of transactions on www.recycleagift.com.

Luke Taylor, head of Play Trade, said: “Unwanted Christmas presents can be difficult to return without the embarrassing 'do you still have the receipt?' questions. This site makes life easy.”

People wanting to get rid of unwanted gifts enter the details of the product, the barcode number, decide on a price and hope there is a buyer. Play said that there will be no charge for selling items from Boxing Day until the end of January. After this people will be charged 50p a listing.
