Malware being distributed as swine flu update

Email posing as swine flu update infecting victims PCs with malware

Written by Dinah Greek, Computeractive

F-Secure has discovered cyber-criminals are spreading a malicious file disguised as a swine flu update.

The security firm said the icon in the file which is sent by email with the header 'Novel H1N1 Flu Situation Update.exe' is disguised look as if the recipient has received a Word document file. The document file that is automatically opened by the malware cons the victim into thinking a Word document has really been opened.

However, the malicious email actually downloads several new executable files to the victim’s hard disk including what F-Secure said was an elaborate keylogger.
