There is no need to install extra software if you want to copy files to a website, or download something from an ftp server. Although a little basic, Internet Explorer is quite capable.
Type the address of the server into the address bar making sure to include the initial ftp letters, for example ‘ftp://ftp.theserver.co.uk’. Give the information requested in the box and click on Logon.
The folder on the server will then appear just like a normal folder on the computer. Files can be dragged and dropped in and out of the folder, although this will take longer because of the connection speed.
