No matter how organised you think you are with your digital snaps, using a photo management tool like Photo Album Manager will make your life much easier.

It doesn't take long before the volume of your picture collection makes it impossible to keep track of what's where. The first thing Photo Album Manager does after installation is to search your hard disk for images.

Setting it to retrieve pictures of a minimum size is essential for finding photos, rather than random Windows files. When images are found, a wizard provides options to organise your photos or use them in a project template.

The creative projects help you to print photo albums and use your pictures to create calendars or slide shows that you can save to a CD.

Once imported, a timeline shows when photos were taken. You can also put each photo into a specific category and create keywords, which makes it easy to search for pictures.

Unfortunately, Photo Album Manager can't copy pictures straight from a digital camera but it can read from memory cards.
