The speaker icon adorning the front of this software packaging is a little misleading – it's not really about audio, except for a few options.

As its name suggests, the main function of Tesco Easy Record is copying CDs and DVDs. This means making data and music discs, erasing rewritable discs, copying discs and working with disc images.

Although much of this is available in programs that come bundled with computers, Tesco Easy Record has one very clever feature; the Archive. This scans a computer for certain types of documents (according to the user's selection) and copies them to one or more discs. It's a good way of archiving files, although it's certainly not as flexible as a full system backup.

While this software is easy to use, it's probably worth sticking with your current copying software and spending the £10 on some blank discs.
