There are plenty of web-design programs that’ll help you create pages for your own website, but you still need a place to host your home page. Generally, your internet service provider (ISP) will give you some web space for this purpose, but there’s no guarantee. And besides, it can be complicated getting it all together.
Alternatively, you could try Google Sites. It offers a web-design tool as well as free hosting (it also replaces the older Google Pages service that we’ve looked at in the past). The design tools are fairly simple – you’re not going to be adding fancy Flash animations to your pages – but perfectly adequate for simple websites for clubs or family photos.
