DNS Arrow buys IBM training business

Distributor claims acquisition makes it Big Blue’s top training partner

Written by Doug Woodburn, CRN

DNS Arrow claims it has become IBM’s largest authorised UK training partner through its acquisition of the Training Services Division of Anix.

The distributor has offered resellers IBM storage training for more than ten years and the acquisition adds further skills in the areas of AIX, HACMP, System P and X Series.

Three Anix Training sales and technical personnel have been seconded to the distributor’s team as part of the move.

Steve Pearce, managing director of DNS Arrow, said: “Training is a key component of our solution sell and we’re delighted to now be the UK’s largest IBM-authorised trainer. This is our second significant acquisition in six months and we look forward to future growth across the business.”

Alastair Jeffrey, training business manager at IBM, stated: “I see this acquisition as a very positive move. Both organisations have brought key skills to the delivery of our curriculum over a number of years.”

The moves comes five months after DNS Arrow completed its $32m acquisition of UK server-based computing distributor Centia (CRN, 4 September).
