Magirus teams with EMC and VMware to send partners back to school

Storage distributor and its heavyweight pals teach virtualised business continuity

Written by Kayleigh Bateman, CRN

Distributor Magirus has joined forces with vendor partners EMC and VMware to stage a series of seminars, talking its resellers and end users through the complex world of virtualised business continuity.

Entitled Discovering Business Continuity in a Virtualised Environment, the seminars aim to highlight the benefits and improve overall understanding of the subject.

Andrew Binding, vice president for Northern Europe at Magirus, said: “The timing was right to offer these seminars to our partner community, as IT spending is under scrutiny at present because of the credit crunch.

At the beginning of December Magirus staged a seminar at its Solution Centre in Bracknell with reseller Redstor.

Tony Ruane, business development director and co-founder of Redstor, said: “How to do more with less is a powerful message that resonates in these times. In particular, Magirus helped us to create a solution demo of virtualised business continuity, illustrating the quantifiable difference it can make on a day-to-day basis for organisations rather than the usual product demos. This is far more compelling and more engaging for our customers.”

Future seminars with resellers include Aegis, DCG, and Software Box.
