So you've got a quiet CPU, case and graphics card fan, but your system still makes a racket. If you have a motherboard that uses an active cooling solution for the Northbridge chip, that's your number one suspect - similarly if the chipset fan whines before it warms up, it's a sure sign that the fan is failing and it's time for a change.

One solution is to remove the cooling fan (very carefully!) and after making sure it will fit, install a ZM-NB32J passive cooler from Zalman.

The gold-coloured aluminum heatsink can be fixed in two ways, either with thermal adhesive or using push pins and thermal grease. The latter option is only feasible if your motherboard already has the requisite mounting holes around the Northbridge chip. Parts for both options are supplied.
