Multimedia and games development suite supports surround sound, HD video and new 3D effects
Adobe has launched a new version of its Director multimedia and games development platform with support for high-definition video and 3D features.
Director 11.5 also has a new audio engine supporting 5.1 surround sound and audio effects using real-time mixing capabilities.
It supports the H.264 format and streaming using the Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) for delivery of HD video content.
The Nvidia PhysX engine is used to help create games and simulations that model real-world effects like gravity.
Adobe Director 11.5, launched at the Games Developers Conference in San Francisco, will be available this month for £795 ex Vat, or £235 ex Vat for an upgrade.
Operating systems supported include Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) and Vista, and Mac OSX version 10.5 on Intel-based Macs.
