Press a panic button if you get mugged and follow the mugger if he pinches the device
A UK firm has launched a wristwatch packing a GPS locator, a phone and a panic button that sends an SMS alert when you press it. The watch also, of course, tell you the time.
The alert call pinpoints your location at a dedicated control centre centre that the LoKate watch, as well as vehicles monitored by the Masternaut Three X vehicle-tracking service.
Wearers can be tracked on any browser, enabling managers and support staff to keep track of staff. And if the device gets stolen they can track the thief.
The phone can be detached from the strap and mounted in taxi -cabs and other vehicles in which drivers may find themselves isolated and in danger.
The LoKate watch is designed by primarily for field workers of all kinds but at £295, plus £14.95 a month for the tracking service, it could find a wider market among the paranoid or peolple who for one reason or another fear they may be attacked.
