USB based system works on any Windows PC
Described as the world's most portable landline, Vonage has brought out a phone in the form of a USB stick.
It gives users the same telephone number from wherever they are, and being Voice over IP, calls costs less than on standard BT lines. Aimed primarily at travelers, it weighs just 18g and is the size of a pack of gum.
It comes with the Vonage talk software preloaded onto the USB stick, so users don’t need to load it onto a broadband enabled Windows computer to get full access to their landline with voicemail.
A standard 2.5 mm stereo earpiece microphone is inbuilt, which is compatible with many mobile phone headsets.
The £19.99 price includes a 250 MB flash drive, which can also store all user contacts and recordings of calls. The £7.99 a month tariff includes all calls to UK landlines.
