Repeating a word on a page is a simple process
Q Can you tell me how I can create a page that repeats the
word ‘SALE’ all over it, like wrapping paper? I’m using Microsoft Works 8.
David Robinson
A In cell A1 enter SALE with a space after it.
If you’d like to change the font press Alt & O, then F; this opens the Format Cells dialogue box and you can choose an alternate font and its size and colour.
Point to the cross at the bottom-right of cell A1 and drag down column A.
Click on cell B1, then click Easy Calc on the Tools menu.
Now click Other, Text, REPEAT, Insert. In the ‘Text:’ box enter A1.
In the ‘Count:’ box enter, for example, 8. Click Next, Finish. Drag cell B1 down the same number of rows as used in column A.
Optionally, instead of using Easy Calc, you could enter =REPEAT(A1,8) in the Formula Bar. The formatting of all the cells will follow that of cell A1.
