If you have no optical drive, this could be a solution
Q While attempting to boot my PC from a CD in its optical
drive, I wondered what options are available to netbook or laptop owners who
don’t have a built-in optical drive. Can they boot from a USB drive and would a
similar option be available on my PC?
Roy Houghton
A Most modern laptops and desktops have a wealth of booting options including support for external USB devices. These allow you to boot from external USB optical drives and, in many cases, Flash memory such as USB keys.
