Roxio Creator 7

Make the most of your digital media.

If you're forever loading separate applications to take care of your CD burning, video-editing and digital imaging needs, Creator 7 from Roxio may well be of interest.

With a simple and easy-to-understand interface, Creator 7's main menu acts as a base for all the individual applications. You'll find everything from CD burning tools to a video capture application. The same style of interface appears throughout the various utilities, so once you've mastered one utility it won't take long to get to grips with the others.

Included in the package are full versions of Videowave and Photosuite. It can't provide the features found in the likes of Adobe Premiere, but Videowave helps simplify the process of importing your video. There are also a number of transitions, overlays and audio tracks to be integrated with the video. Photosuite lacks some functionality, but works fine as an image viewer and basic editor.

Media Manager serves as a handy organiser for those with more than their fair share of digital content and you'll also find a host of DVD and CD burning utilities along with extras such as a CD label creator.

What impressed us most was Creator 7's ease of navigation. With so many features, it would have been easy for Roxio to get it wrong. Some of the utilities might lack a little in depth, but at less than £70 it's a wonder that some of them are there in the first place. All in all, it's a great integrated package.
