Constant conection and no major problems in our year-long test
Overall I have been very happy with the service I’ve received from AOL.
Other than the initial virus problems I had when it was first installed, I have not had any issues with the service. The connection speed has remained constant throughout the trial period and, thanks to the fact that AOL doesn’t impose a download limit, I’ve been able to download as much content as I like.
The only issue I have is with the AOL search engine, which pales in comparison to other search engines on the web.
The service is one of the more expensive on test, but there's no set up fee and no monthly cap, which is good for heavy Internet users.
On the whole, my experience with AOL’s Platinum broadband service has been good. I'd definitely not go back to old dial-up, but I’m not a heavy Internet user so would consider opting for one of AOL’s lower priced packages.
Note: This is part of PCW's long-term group test of broadband Internet packages. Links to all other packages reviewed can be found below
Overall: Initial problems aside, a good package
Whether it's backing up data to a DVD or Blu-ray disc or making an audio disc, Burnaware is simple to use
