Digital photo frame for a tenner
If you don't want to shell out for a big or expensive digital photo frame, Advent’s miniature alternative may appeal.
The display has buttons to enable you to navigate the menus, a USB port for charging and uploading photos to the 8MB memory, two LEDs that act as a torch and a keyring attachment.
The supplied software helps you crop and upload images to the 1.8in display. Although vibrant, the display’s low resolution means you won’t want to look too closely at the photos.
With most phones featuring a similar size display, few people will require a dedicated photo frame of this size, but it’s very cheap at less than £10.

so, why not put some tech info?
what is the USB i/f 1 or 2? How fast can 8 GB be dumped to/from device? What is pixel density? Does it act as a FAT removable drive? What is the user interface to drive the slideshow, etc How long does a battery charge last? How long to charge device? How physically robust is case/buttons/etc ...Just because its a low cost device doesn't mean you need skimp on the description of what it actually is.

Why I bought it, and why you should/shouldn't
A new Grandmother who lives close by, a new father who doesn't. A constant barrage of Baby Pix come my way to pass on. I can print them, or burn a disc to display via the DVD, but whatever I do, it's a poor quality (over the net) picture that's confined to the archieves as soon as the next one arrives. This Gizmo saves all the repeated cost, displays just as well as the alternatives, can be viewed and "goo-goo-gahd-ad" anywhere and has saved me far more than it's £7.47 price tag. Forgetting build quality (what do you expect at that price), there are two things I'd have liked to be aware of before purchase. Most important one. Although it claims 8mb of memory, it doesn't appear to matter how small you compress the files, you are limited to 22 pictures. That's more than enough baby for me, but it 'aint 8 meg. Second, minor point. Transitions. Hey it does lots, venitian blinds, rolling snake, sunburst, scrolling sides etc etc. Very clever. Looks good - First time. Wish I could turn it off!! To round off I like it, I'm happy to have paid what I did, but if Advent are looking, I'd have been a damn site happier if I could have used the full 8 meg and picked my own style.
