This is a great little spelling assistant for your child, consisting of tests and games. Designed in a similar style to Kids Tables and Time, by the same author, it is colourful and presented in a fun style.

The program is split into three parts: two learning games and a facility for testing your child's spelling skills. This test section comes with three options - learning, practice and test - making this a great teaching tool.

Words are easily entered into the program, so it is you who decides what words your child learns. This enables you to tailor the program's content specifically for your child. If you have several children simply enter their names into the program and you can set up separate spelling lists for each child.

The learning option displays each word for an unlimited time - press a button and the word is removed so the child can type the correct spelling. The practice option displays each word for a few seconds before prompting for a spelling - good for testing your child's current knowledge.

The final stage is the test stage in which no words are displayed, but instead are spoken aloud by the PC and your child is asked to type the correct spelling.

Words are easily added to the program and you are able to record a sound for each word - used for the test stage. Get your child to record the sounds and they will learn pronunciation too.

The two games enable your child to improve their reading, vocabulary and logic skills. One game is a hangman-type game, where you are presented with a blanked out word and a choice of letters - select a correct letter and the appropriate blanks are filled in; get it wrong and a life is lost.

The other game involves a word that has been jumbled, and the task is to put the letters in the correct order. With three different levels and 700 words in each your child will be kept busy.
