If you find Word too modern and want to go back to the old days, Visual Typewriter is the answer.

Visual Typewriter creates an editing window complete with a traditional typewriter. There are realistic sounds when typing as well as the old bell when approaching the end of a line.

The typewriter can be customised in lots of different ways. It can produce consistent characters or the weight can be made random to simulate the effect of not pressing the key hard enough.

Unlike a real typewriter it is possible to go back and delete mistakes, although this can be turned off if you want and characters will be overwritten. A spellchecker is also built in that includes both British English and American English.

Buying the software allows you to use the different stationery templates supplied. The wallpaper behind the typewriter can be changed without registration.

Saving is disabled in this demo. The full version can also export files as plain text, HTML, PDF or images. It is also possible to email documents.
