Verdict:

Although the finished look of the presentations is rather basic, the program is easy to use and it takes only a short time to complete a project.

When presenting yourself in business or personal circles, it is important to make a good impression. E-Promocard has therefore designed this program for making business-card-sized CDs, CD-Rs or DVD-Rs.

Called CD-R Presenter, this software allows interactive multimedia content to be created and then transferred onto disc using your usual burning software. You can burn onto normal-sized discs as well, but the business-card size makes a better impression.

The software is based around a set of nine page layouts. These each offer variations and options to make each page of your project look suitably different. Once you have chosen a layout, entering your text and importing images is incredibly simple. The step-by-step instructions make it impossible to go wrong, and with built-in animations, buttons and backgrounds included, you have plenty of material available.

On each page of your project you can insert pictures in various formats as well as web and email links. You can also import your own graphics and audio. The program can handle AVI and SWF files, so you can add your own movie. Once you have put together the presentation, you can preview it to see how it looks, then save it, ready to be put onto CD. This is a little clumsy, as you have to drag the files over to the software, but this is only a minor complaint.

The package we reviewed contained only the software, but for £39.95 you can get five 35MB CD-R cards with wallets, 16 high-resolution stickers, and label-applicator and creator software. If you want to buy the business-card-sized CD-Rs separately, they cost £12.99 for ten.

This is a simple and well-executed idea. Although it is aimed at the small business user, it can also be used for personal invites and event promotions.
